Works with staff to develop fundraising priorities and strengthen charitable support through donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Supports individual giving, sponsorships, grants, and capital fundraising; monitors progress toward goals; and engages Board members in giving and relationship-building. Coordinates with FEA to align fundraising events with overall development goals.
Supports the organization’s financial stability through oversight of budgets, financial reports, cash flow, reserves, investments, and financial controls. Works with staff to monitor performance, identify concerns and opportunities, and recommend financial policies and priorities. Oversees the relationship with the independent auditor and reports significant findings to the Board.
Works with staff to plan and carry out fundraising events and activities, with Encore! as its primary annual responsibility. Recruits volunteers, secures event sponsorships and auction donations, encourages attendance, and engages Board members in event participation. Coordinates with Development and evaluates event results against fundraising goals and budgets.
Helps a few times each month with minor repairs, carpentry, plumbing, cleaning, and other maintenance tasks.
Provides visiting actors, directors, and designers with a private apartment or a private bedroom with bathroom and kitchen access. Stays range from a few days to six weeks or longer. Hosts receive benefits including two complimentary tickets and invitations to the final dress rehearsal and cast party. Watch this feature on WFSB about being a host family
IDEA Committee — Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility
Helps integrate inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility into the organization’s culture, policies, programs, and practices. Works with Board and staff to identify barriers to participation, broaden representation, strengthen accessibility, and build community relationships that support these goals.
Works with staff to strengthen visibility, audience engagement, and community awareness of Playhouse Theatre Group and its programs. Supports marketing strategy, public relations, promotional partnerships, and outreach to attract and retain patrons and students. Engages Board and community networks to expand the organization’s reach.
Helps organize and maintain the organization’s storage facility, including inventorying props, costumes, and set pieces to keep materials accessible for productions.
Ushers Welcomes and assists patrons, supports concession sales, and helps keep the theatre clean and safe before, during, and after performances. Volunteers commit to at least six shifts annually across a variety of shows, arrive one hour before curtain, wear all black, and bring a positive, flexible attitude.
