Part Time Production Manager/ Technical Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Technical Director/Production Manager position is a part time, year round, paid position.
The successful candidate will:

Oversee all technical activity for the performing arts center including setting and maintaining the schedule Leading load-ins and strikes when necessary

Facilitate communication between all technical departments for each production
-
Facilitate communication between Administrative staff and the Production staff in regards to payroll and contracts
-Ensure Design Teams are aware of deadlines and budgets and working to keep designs and all technical departments within deadlines and production budget
-
Work as a carpenter for each mainstage production and special event as needed Work with designer to focus lights as necessary
-
Maintain the lighting plot during the run including lamp checks
-
Oversee all sound, including setting up and running the system as necessary

Maintain all technical equipment including tools, and lighting and sound gear
-
Be on-call during the run of productions for all technical problems

Participate in offering insight on technical aspects of each proposed or upcoming show
- Maintain inventory of lighting, sound, and scenery

Attend production meetings for each mainstage production and special event to coordinate all aspects of tech

Coordinate volunteers for run crews and turnover help

Mentor technical interns

Manage and file tech resumes
SKILLS:
-
Technical Theatre Degree preferred but not essential
-
Demonstrate proficiency in carpentry, electrics, and sound
-
Organizational skills
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Experience with Vectorsworks and/or AutoCad preferred
-
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
-
Must be comfortable working at heights on a ladder

Office Help - Playhouse On Park is looking for a person with any type of accounting/finance background to volunteer 8 hours per week in the Playhouse Office. Interested persons should contact Tracy Flater at tflater@playhousetheatregroup.org or 860-523-5900 ext 12. Interested persons must be willing to multi-task and cover box office when needed. Administrative focus will be on accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
Grant Writer
This position is not funded at this time. Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc is currently working on securing funding for this position OR would be interested in working with someone on a volunteer basis to find a grant that would fund a paid position.
PTG, Inc is looking for someone to write, and secure government, foundation and individual non-profit grants. We are looking for someone who is willing to grow with a young theatre company! Primary responsibilities include: preparing proposals and grant applications; performing responsible, professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in the areas of arts & culture, education and outreach.
Qualified candidates possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, Powerpoint and Excel), and database management skills. The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify funding opportunities for special programs. Work is performed under broad direction of the Executive Director with the majority of work performed independently.
